Cae Mabon is a magical woodland retreat with a collection of handcrafted eco-dwellings nestled among woods and glades beside a wild mossy stream. 

Accommodation is shared and communal, in keeping with the spirit of the event — simple, cosy, and close to nature.

The spaces

Participants will be spread across seven unique dwellings, each with its own character. These include cob, strawbale, timber, and turf-roofed buildings, all within a short walking distance of the main gathering spaces. 

Indoor capacity is 26 people, and most rooms are shared with 3–5 people.

4 doubles and 18 singles are available.

If you’re booking with a partner/friends and would like to request a double bed or book out a whole dwelling, you’ll be able to indicate this when booking — we’ll do our best to accommodate, but can’t guarantee.

Bedding bundles (duvet + towel) can be hired from the venue for £20 if needed. Please indicate if you would like a bedding bundle when booking.

These shared spaces help create the sense of community we’re coming together to explore, but they are not to everyone's taste.

If you’re comfortable with a bit of rustic charm and shared living, you’ll feel right at home.

Cae Mabon has a good range of shared facilities, including:

The site combines beautiful nature with unique natural structures and low-impact facilities. It's enchanting, nature-based, and provides a nice mix of comfort and simplicity.

Throughout our time together, we’ll be enjoying delicious vegetarian and vegan food prepared on site by the experienced catering team at Cae Mabon.

Meals are designed to be both satisfying and supportive of the flow of the event — grounding us between sessions and creating space to connect informally around the table.

The catering team is very experienced with diverse diets, and we’ll do our best to ensure everyone is well fed and cared for.

Snacks & Extras

There will be tea, coffee, and simple snacks available throughout the gathering to keep energy levels steady between sessions.

Cae Mabon is located near Bangor in North Wales. Detailed directions will be sent after booking.

By Train

The nearest station is Bangor Station.
From there it’s a short taxi ride to the site. We’ll help coordinate shared taxis closer to the time.

By Car

There is limited parking available on site. We strongly encourage car sharing where possible — there will be a way for participants to connect in advance for car-share.

Arrival Window

Arrival will be on Monday afternoon, between 2 and 4pm, with the first gathering circle taking place at 5pm, before dinner at 6.30pm.

Cae Mabon is comfortable but gently rustic, so a little preparation will help you make the most of the experience.

Essentials

• Sleeping bag or duvet
• Towel
• Warm layers (evenings can be cool)
• Waterproofs and outdoor footwear
• Torch or headlamp
• Water bottle
• Personal toiletries (biodegradable preferred)

Optional but nice

• Notebook or journal
• Slippers or cosy indoor shoes
• Musical instruments

We want the gathering to be as inclusive as possible. If you have access needs, mobility considerations, or anything you’d like us to be aware of, please get in touch — we’ll do our best to support you and clarify whether the environment will work for you.

The site is set within woodland and includes uneven paths, steps, and short walks between spaces. Most activities will involve moving between buildings outdoors.

Facilities include standard-height beds and a mix of seating (chairs and some floor seating).

The gathering is especially suited to people who see the value in what the Land Based Living Collective is working towards and who would like to get involved, contribute, and help carry the work forward.

While there will be sessions guided by experienced practitioners and experts, the richness of the gathering comes from what each participant contributes.

You don’t need to arrive with any particular experience or expertise. If you care about what we’re exploring and feel drawn to the vision, your presence and perspective are valuable.

There will be moments of structure and moments of spaciousness, with plenty of time for informal connection. You’re welcome to participate in ways that feel comfortable and authentic for you.

We hope to create a space where:

The gathering has a maximum of 30 participants due to venue capacity, which will help keep the gathering intimate.

Yes — shared accommodation is included for all confirmed participants.

Places are secured on a first-come, first-served basis once payment is completed.

The gathering is designed as a fully residential stay.

Your ticket covers the full programme, shared facilities, all meals, snacks, and accommodation.

We want to be as fair as possible while also covering ourselves against late cancellations, so:

• More than 30 days before the gathering: full refund minus a small admin fee
• 14–30 days before: 50% refund
• Less than 14 days before: unfortunately we’re unable to offer a refund, as costs will have been committed

You’re always welcome to transfer your place to someone else if you can’t attend — just let us know.

The gathering is designed primarily for adults, but families with children are definitely welcome. If you'd like to bring children, please contact us before booking so we can discuss accommodation and the programme to see if it will work.
