The Land-Based Living Collective represents a bold yet human-scale response to many of the interconnected crises of our time.

Our broad goal is to help foster a cultural movement towards re-integrating humans into natural living systems by demonstrating practical, economically viable, low-impact ways for people to live in positive relationship with land while creating meaningful livelihoods and resilient communities.

As a values-led CIC, we're committed to working towards long-term ecological and community benefit in service of life's continued thriving.

A moment of opportunity

Across the UK, there's a clear and growing need for more:

  • regenerative land use
  • genuinely affordable ecological housing
  • small-scale farming and land-based livelihoods
  • local food sovereignty
  • nature-based, community-centred living

Yet pathways for ordinary people to meet these needs remain very limited.

We’re working to change that, and we invite you to help us.

We believe the poly-crisis we all face can be an opportunity to move towards a vibrant, re-localised, land-based culture here in the UK — one in which humans and nature can thrive together.

But it’s a finite window of opportunity.

Amid rising environmental, economic, and political instability, now is a crucial moment to use what time and resources we have available to lay foundations for a more land-based future.

Let's do what we can in the time we have.

What we’re developing

Our collective is focused on creating replicable models of land-based living that combine:

  • affordable and healthy low-impact homes
  • regenerative food growing and land stewardship
  • nature recovery and climate resilience
  • local enterprise and meaningful work
  • a culture of care, mutual aid and belonging
  • land-skills training and knowledge-sharing

We’re currently working on several initiatives across a range of scales:

WyldRooms — a natural building enterprise creating low-impact, nature-inspired structures.

Growers’ Sanctuaries — living and growing spaces (6-10 acres) designed to support new entrants into land-based livelihoods while providing free / low-cost food to local communities.

Regenerative Retreat Centres — combined permaculture-based eco-tourism and land-skills training sites (10-20 acres) offering nature-based retreats and hands-on educational experiences in an environment of regenerative practice.

Land-Based Communities — one-planet community farms (40-50 acres) that combine intergenerational low-impact living (15 households), agro-ecological food-growing, integrated nature-recovery, and land-skills training all on the same site.

In addition to developing these models, our work includes running an online collaboration hub for those wishing to get involved in our vision for land-based community living in the UK, holding events, and cultivating relationships across the ecosystem of individuals and organisations involved in the wider land-based living movement.

Why partner with us

We're still at an early stage — which is precisely what makes this moment meaningful.

Supporting us now offers the opportunity to:

  • help us catalyse a strong movement towards land-based living in the UK
  • contribute to real-world demonstration projects with clear social and environmental benefits
  • support practical responses to housing, land access, and ecological challenges
  • empower a growing network of people to practice regenerative ways of living

Our work has the potential to directly benefit many people and places, and to reach a large audience with the important message that we humans can in fact live well and beautifully within the carrying capacity of the earth and already have everything we need in order to do so.

If you're an individual or organisation looking to support grounded, inspiring, human-scale responses to the interconnected challenges facing our world, we'd love to connect.

How you can partner with us

If you feel aligned with our mission, we’d love to explore partnering in any of the following ways:

Our current priority: operational support

At this stage, our most immediate need is operational funding to enable the establishment and development of The Land-Based Living Collective as an organisation.

Support in this area will allow us to lay the foundation needed to begin to translate our vision into reality. This phase will include:

  • building a small core team
  • developing early-stage initiatives
  • running events and educational programmes
  • growing our platform and network
  • supporting the wider ecosystem around land-based living in the UK

By contributing at this stage, partners and funders play a critical role in enabling us to build the capacity and momentum needed to bring land-based living initiatives to life.

Join us

What we’re developing is still in its early stages — but the direction is clear.

Across the UK and beyond, there’s a growing movement towards regenerative land use and culture, and more grounded, connected ways of life.

We believe we can offer a valuable contribution to this movement. In so doing, we hope to play a small but meaningful role in helping shape the transition towards a more ecological civilisation.

If this resonates, we’d love to hear from you.
